Basketball Game Preview: Fort Hancock Mustangs vs. Van Horn Eagles

The Fort Hancock Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Van Horn Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Fort Hancock is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Wink on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fort Hancock was dealt a 74-16 loss at the hands of Wink. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-11.

Meanwhile, Van Horn came up short against McCamey on Friday, falling 43-22.

Van Horn's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Fort Hancock, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Fort Hancock took a serious blow against Van Horn in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 36-5. Can Fort Hancock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
