Baseball Recap: Boquet Valley Takes a Loss

Boquet Valley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They lost 20-1 to the Johnsburg Central Jaguars. The Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

As for Johnsburg Central, the victory got them back to even at 2-2-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Johnsburg Central's part, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Freebern, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Rowan Olesheski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Boquet Valley will face off against rival Schroon Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Johnsburg Central is set to take on their familiar foe Lake Placid at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
