Basketball Game Preview: John Marshall Monarchs vs. Parkersburg South Patriots

John Marshall is 0-10 against Parkersburg South since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The John Marshall Monarchs will host the Parkersburg South Patriots at 7:00 p.m. John Marshall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, John Marshall made easy work of Tyler and carried off a 66-43 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Rilee Storm continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 21 points in addition to six assists and four steals. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalyn Reese, who posted 11 points along with six boards and three steals.

John Marshall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Parkersburg South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 49-42 to Huntington.

Parkersburg South's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for John Marshall, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
