Softball Recap: Dunmore Gets the Win

While Dunmore's victory against Lakeland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bucks had just enough and edged out the Chiefs 4-3 on Friday. The Bucks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chiefs, too.

Paige Ancherani made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ancherani was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Jaclyn Brown was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Dunmore's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Lakeland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunmore will challenge Old Forge at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bucks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to square off against Riverside at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chiefs are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
