Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Becker's Winning Streak

After a string of three wins, Becker's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 77-60 fall against Horace. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 173rd in Minnesota, while Horace are ranked fifth in North Dakota).

Despite the loss, Becker still got an impressive performance from Sawyer Brown, who posted 20 points. The contest was Brown's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Paumen, who scored 13 points.

Becker's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Horace, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Becker didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-60 defeat against Varsity Opponent on the 27th. As for Horace, they will look to defend their home court on January 3, 2025 against Sheyenne at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Horace's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
