Basketball Recap: McEwen Comes Up Short

McEwen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Waverly Central Tigers on the road by a 52-34 margin. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

McEwen's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Waverly Central, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McEwen won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Stewart County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waverly Central, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against East Hickman County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
