Soccer Game Preview: Brooks County vs. Thomasville

Brooks County is 0-10 against Thomasville since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. Brooks County will look to defend their home pitch against Thomasville at 5:00 p.m.

Brooks County fell victim to Irwin County and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Brooks County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Irwin County are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, Thomasville came tearing into last Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rebels a 4-0 shutout. Considering Thomasville have won six games by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Thomasville's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five matchups. As for Brooks County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Brooks County suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Thomasville in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Brooks County was down 6-0.
