Basketball Recap: Acton-Boxborough Starts Season with Win at Home

Acton-Boxborough took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Shrewsbury Colonials 66-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Revolution also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Acton-Boxborough found their leader in freshman Avery Terry, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Claire Chimento was another key player, shooting 45% from the field on her way to 15 points.

Acton-Boxborough smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Shrewsbury's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Acton-Boxborough and Fontbonne Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shrewsbury will take on Nashoba Regional in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
