Basketball Recap: Lab University Christian Academy Varsity Takes a Loss

Lab University Christian Academy Varsity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 72-56 bruising from Varsity Opponent. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against Varsity Opponent this season, with their most recent defeat being a 59-41 loss back in November.

Despite the defeat, Lab University Christian Academy Varsity saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah Phillips went 8-for-11 to rack up 22 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Shumate, who posted 11 points and six boards.

Lab University Christian Academy Varsity's loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Lab University Christian Academy Varsity will be home for the holidays to greet Thomas Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 16th. Varsity Opponent has already played their next matchup (against KIPP Houston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
