It was a good run, but University Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hickory Christian Academy Knights, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 12th.

University Christian might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Hickory Christian Academy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.

Larkyn Gerken paced University Christian's offense, picking up 14 kills. Gerken got some help from Fernanda Soto and her 25 assists. Soto was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Among those leading the charge was Kamryn Sain, who had 12 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 8-4. As for Hickory Christian Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

University Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Salem Christian School on the 2nd. As for Hickory Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against North Hills Christian on the 2nd.
