            Baseball Recap: Fletcher Senators vs. Fleming Island Golden Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Fletcher gave up the first  runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They came out on top against the Fleming Island Golden Eagles by a score of  11-6. That's two games straight that the Senators have won by  exactly five  runs.

 Bruce Neel looked comfortable as he  struck out seven batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in February.
 On the hitting side,  Jakeb McDougall was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more,  he posted three  RBI, the most he's  had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Gabe Hernandez, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
The  victory made it two in a row for Fletcher and  bumps their season record up to 14-7-1. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Fleming Island, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record  this season.
 Fletcher will square off against Bulloch Academy at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so the Senators' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fleming Island, they will face off against Fernandina Beach at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
