High school football: Arch Manning breaks out in opener, lands in this week's Top 10 plays

Nephew of Peyton, Eli shows off arm as Newman wide receiver A.J. Johnson also dazzles.

A famous name headlines the Top 10 high school football plays this week as Arch Manning of Newman (New Orleans) delivered in his season opener. But it wasn't all about the super sophomore with the star-name recognition as there are punishing stiff arms, amazing grabs and even special-teams thievery sprinkled throughout this week's best.

The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning tossed six TD passes, finding his new favorite target, A.J. Johnson, on the first ball of the season. The pair later connected as Arch Manning fired a dart to the back of the end zone where a streaking Johnson made a spectacular snag.

While North Shore (Houston) quarterback Dematrius Davis Jr. makes his second straight Top 10 plays appearance with a scoring strike to Shadrach Banks, it's not all about big names.

Quintel Peoples of Lima Central Catholic (Lima, Ohio) delivers a special team gem you have to see to believe, and Junior Bergen of Billings Senior (Billings, Mont.) shows off his refuse-to-go-down attitude.

Check back each week throughout the season to see the wildest highlights from the prep gridiron with hosts Steve Montoya and Zack Poff.
