The Paxton Bobcats will square off against the Destin Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Paxton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Paxton is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering W.S. Neal just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bobcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Paxton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Phillip Bearden, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. What's more, Bearden posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Destin lost 12-3 to Cottondale on Friday.

Palmer Robbins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season.

Destin's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Paxton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Paxton's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. Paxton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Destin, though, as they've been averaging only 0.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Paxton continue to outrun the ball?

Paxton came out on top in a nail-biter against Destin when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paxton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
