Basketball Game Preview: Metter Tigers vs. Portal Panthers

Metter and Portal are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Metter Tigers duke it out with the Portal Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Metter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

On Saturday, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Metter made off with a 67-66 victory over McIntosh County Academy.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Portal, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 34-26 win over Emanuel County Institute on Saturday.

Metter's record is now 7-2. As for Portal, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Metter came up short against Portal in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 40-32. Can Metter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
