Baseball Recap: Lincoln Southwest Falls Short Against Ranked Lincoln East

Lincoln Southwest faced Lincoln East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Silver Hawks fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1. The Silver Hawks have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Lincoln Southwest got a good showing from Linkin Dush, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Dush has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Lincoln Southwest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Vernon, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Lincoln Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Lincoln East, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-3.

As of now, neither Lincoln Southwest nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
