Merritt Island had already won ten in a row and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They blew past the Edgewood Red Wolves 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

While Merritt Island won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.

Kylee Thompson paced Merritt Island's offense, picking up 11 kills. Thompson got some help from Amber Ives and her 16 assists. Peyton Riordan controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Merritt Island's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Edgewood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.

Merritt Island will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Edgewood, they will take on Cocoa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
