Football Recap: La Salle Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

La Salle Academy dropped down to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 19-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cranston West Falcons. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Rams couldn't quite close it out.

As for Cranston West, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.8 points on average over those games.

Cranston West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jon Leroux led the charge by throwing for 232 yards and a pair of TDs. Ethan Parent helped Leroux out on the ground, picking up 101 receiving yards and one score.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Salle Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East Providence at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Cranston West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Portsmouth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
