Basketball Game Preview: Fredericktown Freddies vs. Cardington-Lincoln Pirates

Fredericktown is 1-9 against Cardington-Lincoln since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Freddies will look to defend their home court against the Pirates at 7:15 p.m. Fredericktown will be strutting in after a win while Cardington-Lincoln will be coming in after a defeat.

Fredericktown is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since November 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Utica 39-37. The victory continues a trend for the Freddies in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won three in a row.

Fredericktown had a senior duo take command as Mya Bryant shot 58% from the field en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals and Ella Bouton posted seven points along with nine boards and seven assists. Gracyn Toombs was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cardington-Lincoln came up short against Buckeye Central on Tuesday, falling 66-41.

Cardington-Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Fredericktown, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Fredericktown couldn't quite get it done against Cardington-Lincoln in their previous meeting back in January as they fell 44-32. Can the Freddies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
