Volleyball Recap: New Athens Takes a Loss

New Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Trico Pioneers. If the Yellow Jackets were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

New Athens' loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Trico, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, New Athens and Trico will both be playing Steeleville the next time they take the court. The Pioneers will head out to face the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Yellow Jackets will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
