Football Recap: Caden Thompson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Sandwich

Woodstock lost to Sandwich back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Blue Streaks enjoyed a cozy 42-26 victory over the Indians. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Streaks.

Woodstock's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Thompson led the charge by throwing for 199 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes. Thompson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Blue Streaks' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Cash White also helped with two TDs in total.

Woodstock's record now sits at 5-2. As for Sandwich, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
