University came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers by a score of 44-31. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jevon Westfall and Brody Jeran certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Westfall went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points, while Jeran posted eight points.

University's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

University does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they have already played their next matchup, a 52-37 win against Lincoln on the 1st.
