Baseball Recap: Highland Park Victorious

Highland Park never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Wyandotte on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Scots' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Mason Foxford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Foxford was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Highland Park's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-0-2. As for Wyandotte, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland Park will challenge Northeast at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Scots are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Wyandotte, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Schlagle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
