Basketball Recap: Edgewood Comes Up Short

Edgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 28-18 to the Miamisburg Vikings. The Cougars were probably out for revenge after losing 56-36 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Rylee Manning and Maddie Jones, who each put up six points. Sydney Schiff held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Kamdyn Buck took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Miamisburg, they moved to 3-8 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Edgewood and Miamisburg could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Edgewood (ranked 658th) will meet Bellbrook (ranked 87th) at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Miamisburg (ranked 449th) will meet Fairmont (ranked ninth) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
