The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Ephrata nor Northern Lebanon made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Mountaineers didn't even let the Vikings on the board, marking the Mountaineers' second-straight 2-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Mountaineers, who have now won four games in a row.

Collin Miller tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Ty Custer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Ephrata's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northern Lebanon, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-3.

Looking ahead, Ephrata will head out to face off against Lampeter-Strasburg at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Mountaineers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northern Lebanon, they will be playing at home against Halifax at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
