The Lions fell just short of the Barracudas by a score of 3-2. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Barracudas 25-3 in the first set.
Statesville Christian came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 3-25, 25-23, 27-25, 21-25, 19-17.
Statesville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Hickory Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Hickory Christian Academy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11 aces per game. However, it's not like Statesville Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
