The biggest upset of the week belonged to North Miami, who took down 178th ranked North Miami, 30-16. Keon Roman threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 39 yards in the win.
Roman and Ryan Mayes provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Pioneers. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in 8A District 13 this season.
5-foot-10 quarterback Roman of Dr. Krop is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1492. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, North Miami's Charles Romane has rushed for 538 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nesley Ostral. The North Miami star has 19 catches for 496 yards.
The Lightning were the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, Dr. Krop defeated Ed Williams' team 30-16.
