Softball Game Preview: Wingate Bears vs. Thoreau Hawks

The Wingate Bears will head out to challenge the Thoreau Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Wingate has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Wingate didn't have quite enough to beat Tohatchi and fell 12-11. The Bears have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Thoreau was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Navajo Prep, falling 17-2.

Wingate's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Thoreau, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Wingate came out on top in a nail-biter against Thoreau in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 11-10. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
