Kent Denver can attribute much of their success to Kaylah Miller, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 16 points and seven rebounds, and Austin Duncan, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. What's more, Miller also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Channing Tierney, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and five steals.
Kent Denver smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stargate School only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Colorado Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 victory over the Eagles.
Colorado Academy's win came from a few key players Kent Denver will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Anna Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Colorado Academy's points. Hannah Smith was another key player, putting up 13 points along with eight boards and five steals.
Colorado Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Kent Denver, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Kent Denver has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Colorado Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
