Basketball Recap: Memphis' Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Memphis had lost five straight headed into Friday's match, but Abel Villa didn't let it get to six. The Memphis Cyclones snuck past the Highland Park Hornets with a 56-52 win on Friday thanks in part to Villa, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high.

Memphis' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10. As for Highland Park, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Clarendon the next time they take the court. Highland Park will host Clarendon at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Memphis will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on January 31st.
