Basketball Game Preview: Waukegan Bulldogs vs. Taft Eagles

The Waukegan Bulldogs will face off against the Taft Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waukegan will be strutting in after a victory while Taft will be coming in after a loss.

Taft will be up against a hot Waukegan team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Waukegan managed a 40-35 win over Mundelein on Tuesday.

Waukegan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alliaya Cade out in front who posted 12 points and eight steals. Cade is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hadassah Brown, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Taft was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 33-32 to Lane Tech. The Eagles have struggled against the Champions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Waukegan, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
