Baseball Recap: Plano East Extends Winning Streak to Three

Plano East waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the White Longhorns. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly five runs.

Brayden Bergman looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Diego Barboza, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Carson Weber was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Plano East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Plano East's record now sits at 9-6-1. As for White, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9-1.

Coming up, it'll be Eastside v. Westside when Plano East and Plano West meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for White, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against South Oak Cliff at 5:00 p.m. South Oak Cliff is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
