Basketball Recap: Sydney Ward and Jakiyah Giggetts Secure Win for Chatham

On MondayChatham's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over the Tunstall Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-38 last Monday.

Chatham was led to victory by Jakiyah Giggetts and Sydney Ward. Giggetts dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards, while Ward dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. Giggetts' evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Markayla Mayo was another key player, putting up a point along with seven assists and three steals.

Chatham's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-0. As for Tunstall, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Chatham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-24 win against Brookville on the 11th. As for Tunstall, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-34 loss against Gretna on the 10th.
