Softball Recap: Dunellen Takes a Loss

Dunellen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 17-4 to the Montgomery Cougars.

Rose Ciccolella was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa DeVesa, who earned one RBI, one run, and three stolen bases.

Dunellen's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Montgomery, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-14 record this season.

Dunellen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montgomery, they will face off against Plainfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.71 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
