Basketball Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 73-47 to the Moses Brown Quakers. While losing is never fun, the Islanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Quakers are ranked third).

Moses Brown was led to victory by Donovan Clement and Otis Crosby. Clement shot 5-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards, while Crosby went 6 of 9 en route to 21 points. The game was Crosby's 12th in a row with at least ten points. RaJhon Jones was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Moses Brown, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

When Middletown and Moses Brown next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Middletown will try to stop North Providence's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Moses Brown will face off against West Warwick and their five-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
