Football Game Preview: Renton Red Hawks vs. Hazen Highlanders + How To Watch

The Renton Red Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Hazen Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Renton has given up an average of 29.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Renton lost 51-25 to Mercer Island on Friday. Despite 83 more yards than the Islanders, the Red Hawks couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Renton got top-tier performance from Wisdom Bryon, who picked up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns. With that strong performance, Bryon is now averaging an impressive 100.2 receiving yards per game.

Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last contest, Hazen made sure to put some points up on the board against Redmond on Friday. The Highlanders took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-14 victory over the Mustangs. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Mustangs are ranked 200th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Hazen's win came down to the chemistry between Braylon Glaefke and his top target Eden Gibert. Glaefke rushed for 94 yards and a pair of scores while Gibert gained 157 total yards.

Hazen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 347 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Hazen's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Renton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Renton was dealt a bruising 69-20 loss at the hands of Hazen when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Red Hawks were down 49-14.
