Baseball Recap: Arlington Comes Up Short

Arlington extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-12 in the process. They lost 13-4 to the Lake Stevens Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Wednesday.

Billy Kooy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Arlington is 2-1 when Kooy posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

As for Lake Stevens, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

On Lake Stevens' side, Aspen Alexander was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave Alexander a new career-high in RBI (five). Josh Bouley was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Arlington nor Lake Stevens have any future games scheduled.
