Softball Recap: Thatcher Comes Up Short

Thatcher had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Cienega Bobcats, falling 14-0.

Thatcher saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaylee Hughes, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

The win got Cienega back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Thatcher will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Florence at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cienega, they will square off against Marana at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
