Basketball Recap: Jayla Givens Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dodge County

East Laurens posted their closest win since December 21, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dodge County Indians 70-67. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won three in a row.

East Laurens' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayla Givens, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Givens is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mckayela Tanner, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 21 points.
