Basketball Game Preview: LaCrosse Leopards vs. Chase Kats

The LaCrosse Leopards will challenge the Chase Kats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (LaCrosse has four straight wins, Chase has 38 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Saturday, LaCrosse strolled past Lincoln with points to spare, taking the game 40-25. Given LaCrosse's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Lincoln is ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-27, which was the final score in Chase's tilt against Otis-Bison on Friday.

LaCrosse's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.2 points over those games. As for Chase, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.

Everything came up roses for LaCrosse against Chase in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-20 win. Will LaCrosse repeat their success, or does Chase have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
