Recap: Sparks Railroaders vs. North Valleys Panthers
The Sparks Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 70-54 bruising from North Valleys. Sparks was down 54-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Sparks saw an underclassman step up: Eli Flores scored 26 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flores has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Banuelos Puga, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Sparks has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for North Valleys, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparks will take on Truckee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Truckee is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses. As for North Valleys, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against South Tahoe at 7:30 p.m.
