Game recap: Ryan High School Football Team bests Fossil Ridge

DENTON, Texas - In spite of trailing Fossil Ridge (Keller, Texas) 31 points, Ryan (Denton, Texas) surged back to grab a 42-37 win over Fossil Ridge (Keller, Texas) Saturday.

The Panthers pulled ahead on a Keshawn Mitchell touchdown run, and subsequently went into halftime leading 30-7. The Raiders scored the winning points with a rushing touchdown that came in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring nine points in the third, Ryan still trailed by 14 points going into the fourth quarter. But 27 points in the fourth helped RHS pull out the victory.

The Denton school didn't take the lead for good until the the fourth quarter when they ran for a touchdown.



Fossil Ridge came in allowing just 15.7 points per game this season.

The defeat comes as a step back for Fossil Ridge, which notched a 39-7 victory over San Angelo Central in its previous outing. With the win the Raiders extended their winning streak to four games. The loss ended Fossil Ridge's three-game winning streak.
