Volleyball Recap: Mississinawa Valley Gets the Win

Mississinawa Valley hadn't done well against Newton Local recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Blackhawks walked away with a 2-0 win over the Indians. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blackhawks.

Allyson Waymire paced Mississinawa Valley's offense, picking up six kills. Waymire got some help from Danika Neargarder and her 14 assists. Ella Godfrey controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

The match will give the Blackhawks their first taste of in-conference action this season. Meanwhile, Newton Local will challenge rival National Trail at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. This will also be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
