Softball Game Preview: Plant City Raiders vs. Lakeland Christian Vikings

The Plant City Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Lakeland Christian Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plant City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.

Plant City will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Riverview on Monday. The Raiders came out on top against the Sharks by a score of 14-9.

Kyleigh Gibbs looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Katelyn Jordan was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Meiers, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Lakeland Christian came up short against Mulberry on Monday and fell 8-4. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Plant City's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Lakeland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
