Basketball Game Preview: Saydel Eagles vs. Carlisle Wildcats

The Saydel Eagles will challenge the Carlisle Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Saydel's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Carlisle has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Last Thursday, Saydel didn't have quite enough to beat Hoover and fell 52-50.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Carlisle challenged A-D-M on Friday. The match between Carlisle and A-D-M didn't end well, with Carlisle falling 67-48. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Tigers are ranked 22nd).

Carlisle's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Saydel, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Saydel didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Carlisle in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. Will Saydel repeat their success, or does Carlisle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
