Soccer Game Preview: Argenta-Oreana vs. Athens/Greenview/Illini Central

The Argenta-Oreana Bombers will face off against the Athens/Greenview/Illini Central Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Argenta-Oreana's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Argenta-Oreana had taken Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Bombers came up short against the Knights, falling 6-1.

Argenta-Oreana's goal came courtesy of Micah Alworth, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Athens/Greenview/Illini Central's offense. They fell 2-0 to Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth on Saturday. Athens/Greenview/Illini Central haven't had much luck with Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Athens/Greenview/Illini Central now has a losing record of 8-9-2. As for Argenta-Oreana, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
