Volleyball Game Preview: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Poudre Impalas

Fossil Ridge is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Saturday. They will venture away from home to square off against the Poudre Impalas at 12:00 p.m.

Fossil Ridge is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Niwot just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the SaberCats have suffered since March 4th.

While Fossil Ridge was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Niwot's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-16, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Poudre entered their tilt with Greeley Central on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats.

While Poudre won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-16.

Poudre's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Fossil Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.
