Soccer Recap: Marshall's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

Marshall won the last time they faced Bravo and things went their way on Thursday too. The Marshall Barristers' defense stepped up to hand the Bravo Knights a 3-0 shutout. Given the Barristers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Knights are ranked 970th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marshall hit Bravo with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jesse Del Compare, Luis Gonzales, and Christopher Lara.

Marshall has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six contests. As for Bravo, they now have a losing record at 1-2-1.

Marshall has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Franklin on the 17th. As for Bravo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Lincoln on the 17th.
