Baseball Recap: Molalla Comes Up Short

Molalla's tournament run continued when they took on Tillamook on Tuesday. Molalla fell just short of Tillamook by a score of 6-4. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Molalla saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dillon Shultz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Shultz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Mason Strohmeyer was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Molalla's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Tillamook, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Molalla will take on Philomath in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Tillamook, they will face off against Stayton at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
