After flying high against Hobbton on Tuesday, North Duplin came back down to earth. The Rebels lost 3-0 to the North Lenoir Hawks on Wednesday. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-10, 25-13.

Maggie Brown paced North Duplin's offense, picking up four kills. Brown got some help from Lilly Fulghum and her 12 assists. Gracie Higginbotham controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

North Duplin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for North Lenoir, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1.

North Duplin and North Lenoir should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Rebels will face off against West Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (274 vs. 600). Meanwhile, North Lenoir (ranked 112th) will meet North Pitt (ranked 568th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
