Soccer Game Preview: Dobie vs. Alvin

The Dobie Longhorns will head out to challenge the Alvin Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alvin took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dobie, who comes in off a win.

Dobie proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They beat Sam Rayburn by a goal, winning 3-2.

Meanwhile, Alvin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Dawson, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 640th, while the Eagles are ranked 117th).

Alvin's loss dropped their record down to 3-13-2. As for Dobie, the win got them back to even at 9-9-3.

Everything went Dobie's way against Alvin in their previous meeting back in February, as Dobie made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dobie since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
